1. Scope of This Reader Privacy Policy

This Reader Privacy Policy explains how Egatabi ("we," "us," or "our"), a personally operated manga-reading website, handles information relating to website visitors and registered reader accounts at egatabi.com. It covers browsing, account registration, sign-in, profile preferences, and any reader features that become available.

This policy does not describe future author publishing operations, artist collaborations, editorial access, or creator-project uploads. Those activities will require separate disclosures or updates before they are enabled.

This is self-reported age screening, not government-ID or independent identity verification. If registration is rejected, no account is created and the submitted date of birth is not stored.

3. Why We Use This Information

We use information to create and secure accounts; sign users in; provide requested reader features; remember necessary preferences; respond to support and privacy requests; investigate abuse, complaints, or security incidents; troubleshoot technical problems; and meet applicable legal obligations.

Information collected for one purpose will not be used for materially different purposes without providing the notices or choices required by law.

4. Cookies and Similar Browser Storage

We seek to use reasonable safeguards appropriate to the service, including protected account access and encrypted web connections where configured. No internet-based system is completely secure. Specific technical controls should be checked against the live configuration before publication.

8. Retention and Deletion

We keep information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide reader accounts and their requested functions, maintain system security, address legitimate complaints or disputes, and meet legal requirements.

Dates of birth for successfully created accounts are subject to the account retention, closure, and deletion practices described in this section. Rejected registrations do not store the submitted date of birth.

When you request account closure or deletion, some information may remain temporarily in backups, security logs, or records retained for legitimate legal purposes. Exact retention periods and operational deletion procedures must be confirmed and documented before this draft is published.

9. Reader Choices and Requests

10. Age Requirements and Children

Reader account registration is intended for people aged 13 or older. Egatabi does not knowingly solicit accounts or personal information from children under 13.

During registration, Egatabi compares the submitted birth date with the current UTC calendar date and requires the separate age-and-accuracy confirmation. A user must have reached their 13th birthday to register; for a February 29 birth date, this screening treats March 1 as the birthday in a non-leap year. This screening does not independently verify identity or age and does not grant access to mature-content features. No government-ID collection or third-party age-verification service is used for this registration screening.

If we learn that a child under 13 has provided personal information or created an account, we will assess the situation and take the steps required by applicable law, including deletion or other appropriate handling. Parents or guardians may contact egatabi.com@gmail.com.

Users younger than 18 are not eligible to access mature-content features if those features are introduced. Any age-assurance processing or related safeguards will be separately reviewed and explained before launch.
